Metsuke <\/span>considers what one is looking at and how the looking is taking place.<\/span> Who is the looker and what is being looked at?<\/span><\/p>\n

One strives to develop incredible focus and concentration that is not easily distracted by movement and change.<\/span><\/p>\n

Continuous practice allows one to develop single-pointed focus which is non-dual in nature.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kan Ken no Me \u89b3\u898b\u306e\u76ee<\/span><\/h3>\n

Kan Ken no Me<\/span> is the concept of seeing and observing continuous change in<\/span> practice and life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ken <\/span>\u898b is using your eye sense to see.<\/span> One uses one’s eyes to see<\/span> training, movement of the body, changing of position in relation to your surroundings and opponent’s intent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kan <\/span>\u89b3 is using your mind to observe. Observing continuous change, impermanent nature of training.<\/span> Kan <\/span>is the state where execution of technique happens without effort.<\/span> Sometimes in budo, the concept of <\/span>Kan <\/span>is represented by knowing what technique will happen before the action takes place seeing without seeing. <\/span>Kan <\/span>can only be developed by continuous practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
